Who we are
Santa Greets You is a personalized-message service operated by [YDJ Media — legal entity name], registered in the Netherlands [KvK number], [registered address]. You can reach us at hello@santagreetsyou.com. For privacy questions we are the "data controller" for the information described here.
What we collect
We only collect the information needed to create your personalized message and deliver it to you. Child information is never sold or shared with third parties.
To create a personalized message we ask you to provide:
- The parent/guardian's name and email address.
- The child's first name and how to pronounce it, their age, interests and achievements.
- Optional details you choose to add: sibling and pet names, a gift to hint at, encouragement, and anything Santa should avoid.
- Delivery preferences: time zone, and the delivery date and time for each message.
We ask you not to provide surnames, home or school addresses, or other sensitive personal details — we don't need them.
Children's information
The information about a child is always submitted by a parent or guardian, who confirms they are authorized to provide it. We use it only to create and deliver the message you request. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children, and we do not use children's information for marketing.
Why we use it (and our legal basis)
- To provide the service you ordered — creating and delivering the message (performance of a contract).
- To contact you about your order and confirm details (performance of a contract).
- To keep records required for accounting and to handle refunds (legal obligation / legitimate interest).
Who we share it with
We use a small number of trusted providers purely to run the service — for example an email delivery provider and a payment processor. They only receive what they need to do their job and may not use it for anything else. Child information is never sold or shared with third parties for their own use.
How long we keep it
We keep order details only as long as needed to deliver your messages and meet our legal and accounting obligations, after which they are deleted or anonymized. You can ask us to delete your data sooner — see below.
Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the information we hold, to restrict or object to its use, or to receive a copy. To exercise any of these, email hello@santagreetsyou.com or use our Data Deletion Request page. You also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.
Cookies
Our site is intentionally simple and does not set advertising or tracking cookies. If we add analytics or advertising in future, we will update this policy and ask for consent where required.
